Media & Messaging Coordinator

Our North Comms team is small but growing and if you'd like to help co-ordinate and support our fabulous media volunteers in the North, we'd love to hear from you!

The role can be shared between two people, reducing the time commitment necessary.

The XR North is a friendly and organised team.

As the Media & Messaging Coordinator, you will maintain oversight of what's going on within the region and the wider movement, keep tabs on new media & messaging requests, and update members of the comms team so that requests are fulfilled.

This essential role supports the promotion of the North's events and actions through social media, press releases and newsletter production. These channels usually have lead times, in other words, you would be able to prepare posts in plenty of time to publicise our events.

Here are some of the main tasks:

• Connect up and develop good team working relationships within the North Comms working group to co-ordinate messaging between social media editors, newsletter and press liaison roles in line with the current strategy
• Support the media representatives for local groups around the North to develop their skills, helping them to effectively co-ordinate messaging with the North Comms working group.
• Assist the North Integrator to recruit for new roles within the North Comms working group as required.
• Support and coordinate the team of social media handlers for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) ensuring posts are regular, of good quality and appropriate so we increase our followers, widening our reach to new and diverse audiences.
• Sharing posts yourself to act as a communication link between the North region and the social media team.
• Working as part of a team you will help to manage XR North social media posts when social media editors are unavailable.
• Monitor an email inbox and forward media requests appropriately.
• Liaise with the North Website Editors when necessary to make amendments to content.
